Side Effects for Fentanyl citrate (fentanyl citrate)

Itching, unusual dreams/nightmares, out of it twilight sleep/nod feeling, extreme numbness waist down, urinary retention, hypnagogic hallucinations

Worked pretty well for pain in an epidural, but man, it was WEIRD. It seemed to cast me in that Comfortably Numb Pink Floyd video, but then again, I just had surgery and the pain was TERRIBLE. I would reccomend it, but after surgery, you dont have much choice in what they put in your IV. Probably about interchangeable with other strong opioids.

FENTANYL CITRATE (FENTANYL CITRATE): This medication is used to help relieve sudden (breakthrough) cancer pain in people who are regularly taking moderate to large amounts of opioid pain medication. Fentanyl belongs to a class of drugs known as opioid (narcotic) analgesics. It works in the brain to change how your body feels and responds to pain. This medication should not be used to relieve mild or short-term pain (such as due to headache/migraine, dental procedures, surgery). (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

I am a breast cancer patient who already struggles w/ chronic pain from the treatment required for my cancer. After 2 doses of Fosamax, my joint pain has worsened significantly, and I have swelling in my torso. I've decided to stop taking it. My pain includes pain in the wrists, knees and ankles. It has been interfering with my sleep and my mobility. I'm also experiencing discomfort in my throat at the very back of my mouth and when I lay down I experience a dry, hacking cough. These symptoms have been worse the first 2-3 days after I took the pill.

My memory has gotten really, really bad. Need a change (from Remeron Cymbalta), or maybe from my other medications (too many to list).

whilst on carbamazepine: lack of energy/motivation/talkativeness, bad circulation, depression, memory loss(short term/long term)whilst attempting to come off it: confusion, slurred speech, depression, restlessness/agitation, short term memory loss(a lot worse than before), circulation seems worse than whilst on the tablets, head shocks come back almost straight away but more frequent

After waking up, I felt very heavy, and it was hard to walk. I continued to be very sleepy, and fell asleep very early. Other than that I felt fine, and felt completely normal the next day. The sheet I brought home said they gave me: Midazolem (Versed) 11 mg IV, Fentanyl 225 micrograms IV, Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) 50 mg IV. I believe the told me they would be giving me Darvocet as well, but it's not listed on the sheet they gave me.

One dose can totally wreck you life!!! OMG this stuff is DANGEROUS!I took the pill last night and 18 hrs later, still feel like a drank a pot of black coffee along with 3 shots of vodka. Every muscle in my body is twitching, my heart is racing, since an hour after I took this pill. I thought it would wear off by now, but NO!! Don't even take ONE PILL!

Took my first monthly dose about 6AM today. By 2PM had nausea and diarrhea--had to leave work. Now I feel like I have the flu. Went on line to get some info and found this site. I definitely won't be taking this med again. Have already had a wrist fracture, but there has to be something better than this. Don't care what the doctor says. I work in health care and I know how they roll. Will try to say its something else but I know its the Actonel. It was helpful to find women with same experience to support my suspicions. Thank you!
